Well-examination services are essential for successful oil and gas operations and these can be made more efficient if they are integrated
Lloyds Register (LR) is offering operators "life cycle well examination services", including the examination and Independent Competent Person (ICP) services which are required by UK operators and also applied by operators from other countries. By offering assessment and ICP services from the one provider, oil and gas operators can streamline processes and save costs. Other benefits include more efficient data management, reduced administration burden and reduced bumber of customer interfaces.Tablets are used for software calculations and as an important part of the assessment programme.
"We apply our technical and engineering expertise together with our deep knowledge of internationally agreed rules and standards, many of which we helped develop, to independently assess the design and operation of drilling wells in accordance with oil and gas industry standards, including the prevailing regulatory framework and emeging regulatory changes in which the drilling well resides," said Ian Mackay, LRs technical manager for compliance operations.
