Oil in water analytical measurement: The Advanced Sensors way

Technology

Advanced Sensors has developed the next generation of oil-in-water analyser, the X-One, that can be truly interactive with its environment, mimicking a miniature DCS right at the heart of the produced water ecosystem

With more than 15 years’ industry experience, Advanced Sensors Ltd has supplied more than 1,300 analysers globally – and counting – to all major producers. This solid track record demonstrates why they are industry leaders and the first choice for high quality analysers.

The analyser can connect external sensors and environment inputs into the analyser and report and record their values. Using this rich data, the Advanced Sensors analyser can run predictive analysis of the environment using its machine learning expertise that will help optimise and reduce the cost of produced water management.

Head of product development, Dr Connor Douglas, commented, “We have made some truly amazing improvements: the weight and size of the analyser has been reduced by more than a quarter; the uptime has been improved by using AI Enhanced Ultrasonics to stop the optics from fouling; the sensor element can be mounted up to 50m from the controller for either bypass or in-line measurement, allowing the controller to be in a more accessible area; two water streams can now be measured at the same time; and the time between services has been extended with our new double life-time laser technology.”

The landscape of produced water technology is changing, and we have to keep pace. The digitalisation possibilities of the system are particularly exciting. Dr Douglas continued, “We wanted to design an analyser that builds upon our successful history with an emphasis on quality, low maintenance and high accuracy; and use this as the basis to develop a system for the future needs of produced water measurement.”

Advanced Sensors will be exhibiting the X-One along with other products from its vast portfolio at ADIPEC 2021 in Abu Dhabi, from 15-18 November.
