Honeywell displaying the role of technology in supporting energy transition initiatives

Technology

Honeywell is all set to showcase its cutting-edge solutions designed to advance the energy transition and drive energy efficiency and optimisation at Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) 2021

A pioneer of digital transformation and decarbonisation within the energy sector for many years, Honeywell will show the role technology can play in supporting energy transition initiatives across the Middle East.

Honeywell has a long legacy of sustainability-related innovation including Solstice, a new generation of low-global-warming-potential hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) refrigerants, aerosols, solvents and blowing agents that can reduce the greenhouse gas emissions impact of current offerings on the market by more than 99%.

The company has announced its new UpCycle Process Technology – a revolutionary process that expands the types of plastics that can be recycled. The technology can potentially increase the amount of global plastic waste that can be recycled to 90% when used in conjunction with other chemical and mechanical recycling processes.

The UpCycle Process Technology can produce feedstock used to make recycled plastics with a lower carbon footprint, resulting in a 57% reduction of CO2-equivalent (CO2e) emissions compared with the production of the same amount of virgin plastic from fossil feeds.

Cutting-edge solutions for visitors at ADIPEC

Visitors to the Honeywell stand at ADIPEC will learn about how Honeywell’s predictive maintenance and intelligent monitoring systems can be used to improve operational efficiency as part of sustainability initiatives.

In addition, attendees can find out more about Honeywell’s Ecofining technology, a process that converts non-edible natural oils, animal fats and other waste feedstocks to Honeywell Green Diesel, which is chemically identical to petroleum-based diesel, as well as the company’s latest developments in hydrogen solutions and energy management systems to support the transition to alternative energy sources.

Solutions for a changing energy world at ADIPEC 2021

In addition to its operational efficiency technologies, Honeywell will present to ADIPEC visitors a portfolio of industrial safety and performance technologies for today’s energy sector including:

• Autonomous and remote plant management via Honeywell’s Integrated Operations Center

• Immersive Field Simulator digital twin solution for virtual reality (VR) and mixed reality-based training applications

• Honeywell Forge Cybersecurity Suite

• Industrial fire solutions

• Maintenance and inspection solutions designed to improve worker productivity and help mitigate unscheduled downtime

• Safety equipment including PPE and gas detection solutions for workers operating in extreme and hazardous environments.

Honeywell is helping regional entities achieve higher levels of performance, reliability, safety and profitability through its deep domain expertise and advanced industry 4.0 technologies coupled with its extensive industrial cybersecurity experience. Honeywell delivers critical infrastructure projects for leading entities in the region including Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Saudi Aramco and the Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC), among others.
