GD Energy unveils customer-friendly pumps

Frac, drilling and well services provider GD Energy Products (GDEP) has introduced its latest fluid end design for the GD 800HDD pump for the horizontal directional drilling (HDD) market, promising superior performance 

The GD 800HDD pump is a compact, lightweight pump featuring an extremely high rod load, delivering a flow rate of over 1,000 GPM. The new fluid end design employs GDEP’s patented Falcon retaining technology, making it easier to service and maintain the pump. This allows valve changeout time to accelerate by five times, bringing down maintenance downtime during operations. Besides, costly third-party replacement parts that accompanied the previous ‘cage-style’ valve design are eliminated, enabling improved operational efficiencies and streamlined procurement. All of the GD 800HDD pumps, which serve a wide variety of HDD applications, will now utilize the new fluid end technology.

Fluid-end design: a game changer

Colin Krueger, HDD product line manager, GDEP, said, “Our new fluid end design is a game-changer for the HDD industry. We have added highly-efficient valve technology along with our Redline consumables to our fluid ends, making it easier to maintain and less expensive for our customers to replace.”

With a customer-friendly approach, GDEP’s Redline valves were engineered based on feedback for a valve with serviceability, availability, and cost efficiency. These deliver higher performance and extended maintenance intervals. The valves are stocked at all of the company’s facilities and central warehouse, providing easy access for replacement parts.

Krueger added, “By introducing GDEP’s Redline consumables to the HDD industry, we are providing easy-to-source parts and increased cost savings for our customers. The Redline valves have proven their performance in the frac industry that has higher pressures, temperatures and flow rates---we are excited to now deliver the same enhanced benefits to our HDD line.”
