BCCK, a leader in engineering, procurement, fabrication and field construction services, has unveiled the NiTech Ultra Low Methane (ULM), an enhanced nitrogen rejection unit (NRU), optimising efficiency and emissions control for natural gas processing facilities
Designed to address the latest proposed Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations that will result in extensive waste emission charges, the patent-pending NiTech ULM is engineered to provide an ultra-clean vent stream with reduced methane content as low as 10 ppmv.
Mitigating methane emissions is at the top of the agenda for oil and gas companies today, as regulations become increasingly stringent. Around 50 oil and gas companies signed the Oil & Gas Decarbonisation Charter at COP28, which includes a commitment to reduce methane emissions to near-zero by 2030.
Greg Hall, executive vice president, BCCK, said, “We’re proud to introduce the NiTech ULM, which is setting a new standard for ultra-clean overhead vent streams in natural gas processing. This new design underscores our commitment to reducing our environmental footprint and helping operators achieve their emissions reduction goals.”
The NiTech ULM is available for new facilities and can also be retrofitted to existing NiTech units, utilising BCCK’s NRU technology.
