Kelton Engineering Ltd has launched UNCERTAINTYPLUS.net, a stand-alone software application, which is designed for engineers to independently assess the uncertainty of a metering system for a given set of operating conditions

Kelton’s software application is designed to demonstrate uncertainty for oil and gas flow measurement and maintain an uncertainty budget, by providing a dynamic uncertainty models for any measurement, allocation or transportation system.

“Proving your systems’ uncertainty is a regulatory requirement in fiscal, allocation and environmental measurement,” said Mark Hay, operations manager – software applications at Kelton.

“Kelton have applied their long-term experience and uncertainty knowledge to design the Uncertaintyplus.net software application to help customers meet their obligations, cost effectively,” he added.

Uncertaintyplus.net features traceable uncertainty calculations for all common secondary instrumentation, and can be configured and saved in files. The software application is portable and can be operated without network access.

This will provide a meaningful comparison between measurements, and optimise the calibration intervals, which will improve the current systems and allow data to be easily accessed and assessed.
