Oil production in Saudi Arabia rose to 9.15mn bpd in February this year from 9mn bpd a month earlier, with exports also recording an increase by 5.1 per cent during the same period, according to figures posted by the Joint Organization Data Initiative (JODI)
The kingdom exported 7.4mn bpd of crude oil and condensate in February, up from 7.1mn bpd in January, JODI's figures revealed.
Of the oil produced, Saudi Arabia used 294,000 bpd in its power stations and water-desalination plants in February, down from 303,000 bpd used during the corresponding period in 2012 and 318,000 bpd consumed in January this year.
This also led to lower oil supplies to the national market from 9.26mn bpd in January to 9.16mn bpd in February, sources said.
