UK-based oilfield services company Reservoir Group has absorbed Nordic Well Services into its well intervention services group

Saudi-based Nordic Well Services will join other intervention services companies - UK-based Wellbore Intervention (WBI) and Dutch-headquartered The Tool Company - under Reservoir Group’s new brand, Wellvention.

According to Reservoir Group, the move is in line with its expansion plans in the Middle East.

Fraser Louden, managing director of Reservoir Group’s Well Intervention and Well Monitoring division, said, “Establishing a presence in Saudi Arabia will provide a quick entry to the Middle East through a centralised hub and enable us to service countries from the kingdom, including Kuwait and Qatar, in the longer term.”

Reservoir Group has already established offices in the UAE and Libya through its coring specialist provider Corpro.

Jim Thomson, managing director of WBI, remarked, “The Middle East contains some of the largest quantities of proven oil and gas reserves in the world, with countries such as Saudi Arabia dominating the oil market. The future of global energy supply and demand is inextricably linked to the management of these reserves.”
