The largest LNG producer in the world has singed a five-year sales and purchase agreement with Petronas LNG UK, expanding a strategic import deal to Europe
Qatargas will deliver 1.1mn tonnes of LNG per year to the British based company until the end of 2023. This new deal is an extension on the previous contract which was due to expire at the end of 2018.
Qatargas is looking to Europe, specifically Britain and the Netherlands, in order to expand import deals into Europe's liquid markets.
The LNG will be supplied from Qatargas 4 which is a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum and Shell. It is believed that it will be delivered to the Dragon LNG terminal at Milford Haven in the United Kingdom.
