Conductor Installation Services (CIS) has announced that it has been awarded a wells services contract by Al-Shaheen Weatherford, a joint venture between Al-Shaheen Holding and Weatherford Holding BVI
The contract requires CIS to provide conductor-driving and cold-cutting services for nearly 55 wells located offshore Qatar. The money allocated for the project has yet to be disclosed.
The three-year contract will be carried out by CIS personnel from its base of operations in Doha. CIS would use state-of-the-art 90 kJ hydraulic hammers to drive the 20-inch conductors that would create part of the foundations for the new wells, a press release stated.
The first installation operation is expected to take place at the end of Q1 this year.
