OSSO, the specialist fluid temperature control and separation solutions provider, has recorded a 250% increase in Middle East revenue in 2023, following substantial investments to bolster its regional presence and service offering

These investments have included team expansion, a 150% increase in fleet size and the introduction of land chillers to its mud cooling fleet, which have driven strong regional growth in 2023 and resulted in a series of new key accounts.

OSSO is now partnering with National Horizons Petroleum Services, a Saudi Arabia based distributor and service provider, to offer operators in Saudi Arabia direct access to its mud cooling services, supported by a local fleet of equipment and on-site rig assistance.

National Horizons senior leadership has previous experience of working with OSSO, and the business has made six new hires in the region since 2022, positioning it to grow in tandem with OSSO. OSSO will provide comprehensive upskilling and training to National Horizon’s local workforce to ensure the highest service quality is provided.

David Mitchell, Middle East regional manager at OSSO, said, " This partnership will enable us to offer our customers in Saudi Arabia an enhanced service offering. It also ensures we are working with a partner in Saudi Arabia that can grow alongside with us as we pursue our ambitious regional growth strategy.

“Having worked with the leadership team at National Horizons in the past, I know we have a partner that will enable us to continue delivering top quality service to our customers in Saudi Arabia."

The higher temperatures and deeper gas wells seen in the Middle East mean that effective mud cooling is essential for economically viable drilling operations. OSSO’s turnkey offering, combining land chillers with mud coolers, enables drilling operators to maintain drilling fluids at optimal temperatures, resulting in improved performance, enhanced drilling efficiency, and increased wellbore stability.

Daniel Burbridge, MENA service manager at OSSO, noted, “With more than eight years’ experience supporting the drilling of over 80 HPHT wells in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, and the wider Middle East, this was the ideal time to elevate our proposition as the region enters an exciting phase of growth.

“Saudi Arabia is a vital country within the region for us and we look forward to working closely with National Horizons to offer a truly first-in-class service.”
