Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) has signed a US$514mn contract with South Korea’s Daelim Industrial for the repair and expansion of sulphur processing facilities at its Mina Al Ahmadi refinery
Due to be completed in three years, the project will focus on facilities for handling sulphur at the refinery, Gulf Daily News reported.
This is expected to raise Kuwait’s annual sulphur output from 2.4mn cubic metres to 5.6mn cubic metres, industry sources said.
Mohammad Al Ajmi, KNPC spokesperson, said, “Under the terms of the deal, Daelim Industrial is to undertake all processes from design, engineering, and construction to test run, besides installing new equipment.”
