Actemium has been awarded an Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract by Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Limited (GASCO) for the upgrade of the control systems at the company’s Asab-1 plant
The scope of the project comprises the upgrade of the Siemens Distributed Control System (DCS), the replacement of the Emergency Shutdown (ESD), the Fire & Gas System (FGS), the Burner Management System (BMS), the turbines & compressor controls, as well as the expansion and modification of several Instrument & Electrical Shelters (IES), including HVAC and fittings.
Situated 180km south of Abu Dhabi, GASCO’s Asab-1 plant processes condensate-rich gas, which is extracted from feed-gas and then transferred to one of the UAE’s national refineries.
Actemium’s Major Projects Business Unit will execute the project directly from Abu Dhabi, meaning it will be close to both GASCO and the plant.
“Winning this contract confirms Actemium’s leading position in complex control system revamp projects and strengthens our continuous involvement with the ADNOC group, while enhancing our presence in the UAE, where we have been active for more than 30 years”, said Jimmy Neron, Business Development Director at VINCI Energies Oil & Gas.
“We are proud to contribute to the modernization of one of GASCO’s key assets. This contract also demonstrates our ability to remain among the best contractors while in a very competitive local environment”, added Mr Neron.
