The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (IOGP), and the European Centre for Executive Development (CEDEP) are launching the Safety Leadership Academy, a professionally-accredited training programme dedicated to the needs of the oil and gas industry and designed to strengthen leadership and safety culture

The programme is designed to address five obstacles identified to achieving zero harm:

Ineffective leadership development

Insufficient alignment and application of human factors

Misalignment and confusion on the expectation of zero harm

Inaccurate identification and management of risk

Market pressure

Participants will develop leadership capabilities to change the safety paradigm and make zero harm a reality within their organisations.

The academy is planned to include two three-day residential sessions of in-person, immersive learning and facilitated workshops from world experts in safety leadership and executive leadership development. Between the residential sessions, participants will apply their newly acquired knowledge to in-work organisational and personal strategic challenges with support and knowledge sharing through the programme community, dedicated webinars, and frequent one-on-one coaching.
