Oman Oil Company Exploration and Production LLC (OOCEP) has awarded a US$40mn engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to the UAE’s National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) for the installation of two offshore gas pipelines in Musandam
A new multi-phase offshore pipeline will import gas well fluids from the Bukha field to the Musandam gas plant for processing.
Another offshore export pipeline will be installed to transport gas from Musandam to Saqr Port in Ras al Khaimah, according to a NPCC press release.
The two pipelines have a total length exceeding 30km and will be laid underwater at a depth of up to 90 metres.
The provides the Abu Dhabi-based NPCC an entry into the Omani market and is in line with its expansion strategy.
NPCC was formed in 1973 and is jointly owned by UAE’s Senaat (70 per cent) and Consolidated Contractors International Company (30 per cent).
