Oman LNG has announced that its LNG exports revenues climbed to a record US$4.3bn in 2012, up by 9.5 per cent from the previous year
Mohammed bin Hamad al Rumhy, Oman’s oil and gas minister, said, “Oman LNG continued strong business performance in 2012 and showed good stewardship by the different role players in the value chain feed gas supplier, shareholders, employees, contractors and customers that facilitated the company’s primary obligation of supplying a key source of energy to its buyers.”
Al Rumhy added that the escalating international demand for energy had contributed to a modest spike in the price of Oman’s LNG.
According to Harib al Kitani, chief executive officer of Oman LNG, LNG still continues to maintain a global position in the broader energy mix with demand forecast to double by 2020.
