Magseis and partner BGP have been awarded Saudi Aramco’s S78 project for large-scale ocean-bottom seismic acquisition in the Red Sea
The project, which has an expected duration of nine months plus one year, is expected to commence in July 2016. Magseis’ OBS vessel – MV Artemis Athene – will be used for the survey, which features complicated surface and geological conditions, according to a Magseis statement.
“The combination of Magseis’ OBS technology and BGP’s transition zone expertise ensured the consortium’s successful bid,” the company stated in a release.
Magseis started commercial operations in 2013 with the MV Artemis Athene, a DP 2 class vessel.
