Iran set to start Reshadat oilfield production

The Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) has announced that it expects to start production from the Reshadat oilfield, situated 110km southwest of Lavan Island in the Gulf, later this year

Mahmoud Zirakchianzadeh, managing director of the IOOC, said that the development of Reshadat would eventually add nearly 65,000 bpd to the country’s oil output.

Additionally, IOOC also expects to tap oil production from Hangam field, gas production from offshore Salman field and early gas flow from offshore Kish field soon.

The company has recently signed a three-year US$132mn contract with the Enhanced Recovery Research Center for research on improved oil recovery, according to Iranian news agency Shana.

According to the contract, one of the planned projects involves screening of 50 reservoirs in the Gulf. Others concern enhanced recovery from Binaloud, Hangam and Farzam fields.

IOOC also awarded US$150mn contract to Mehran Company for integrated drilling services.
