In support of Kuwait’s long-term strategy to become a global hub for the oil, gas and petrochemicals industry, Honeywell is set to host the inaugural Honeywell Technology Summit in the country next month.

The event, held under the patronage of Kuwait National Petroleum Company, will take place from 3 -4 October and bring together more than 300 participants including senior industry executives from the energy sector. Supported by major local industry players such as Kuwait Oil Company, Kuwait Integrated Petrochemical Industries Company, EQUATE Petrochemical Company and Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, the event will highlight the importance of connected technologies and business solutions in achieving the goals set out in the Kuwait National Development Plan.

Honeywell is committed to leveraging its innovative technologies and global expertise to support Kuwait’s long-term growth and development ambitions. The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) wave is expected to play an important role in maximizing the value of the oil and gas industry for Kuwait in the future, as part of the 2030 Oil and Gas Strategy.

“Technology and human capital are the key driving force behind Kuwait’s ambition to further develop the oil and gas industry as part of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation’s 2030 Strategy. It also important in helping Kuwait become a global industrial leader by 2035 through innovation, skills development, and targeted strategic investments across the public and private sectors,” said George Bou Mitri, president, Honeywell Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon. “Working with a global partner such as Honeywell gives local industries and companies direct access to the latest technology products and solutions, as well as wide-ranging international expertise and sector-specific knowledge. The Honeywell Technology Summit presents an open platform for Kuwait’s industries and regulators to come together, exchange knowledge and ideas, and together build a steady roadmap for industry development in Kuwait.”
