Abu Dhabi downstream summit spotlights on digital future

The Abu Dhabi International Downstream (ADID) summit will take place at Sofitel, Abu Dhabi on 18-19 September 2017, focussing on the digital future that aims to reduce downtime and increase efficiency to achieve productivity gains

During the summit, the big data analysis will provide the clues to incremental process improvements, using data from hundreds of sensors embedded within plant assets.

The ADID summit is supported by Takreer and Borouge and accompanied by 14 other key industry sponsors. Around 25 spokesperson will participate in the event representing companies such as Borough, Takeer, KIPIC, SABIC, Saudi Aramco, Shell, Ruwais Refinery, Petro Rabigh, Borealis, Orpic, Gunvor Petroleum and many others.

Digitalisation is the key theme, which is attracting business leaders and engineers from the Middle East’s refining and petrochemical industry to the summit.

In addition, attendees will also have the opportunity to meet with a large delegation from as well as learn about ‘crude chemicals’ which has been recognised as an industry game changer.

Four specialist streams are being run leveraging the experience of some of the industry’s leading technology, service companies and operators that will provide their recommendations on keeping one step ahead of the competition.

The ‘Women in Downstream’ panel will address the issues of equality, and representatives from Saudi Aramco, KIPIC and Borouge will further discuss the importance of mentoring for women’s career and advancement opportunities.

The event last year attracted over 222 delegates from over 21 countries and we hope to exceed that in 2017.”
