Zamil Structural Steel has been awarded supply contract worth US$11.7mn by SK Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd. for Package 9 of Jazan Refinery and Terminal Project in Saudi Arabia
The contract calls for the fabrication and supply of a large tonnage of pipe racks, equipment support structures, platforms, shelters and other steel products for Saudi Aramco’s Jazan Refinery.
When completed in late 2016, the refinery will have the capacity to process 400,000 bpd. The additional refined products from the new facility will satisfy the growth in domestic demand kingdom, according to the company.
The Jazan Refinery and terminal project will also be coordinated with a large integrated gasification combined-cycle plant, which is set to be operational in 2017.
