FMC Technologies and OneSubsea have won orders from BP Exploration Limited to supply subsea equipment for the Shah Deniz Stage 2 project in the Caspian Sea
The FMC Technologies order, with a value of US$297mn in revenue, includes the supply of equipment for the production clusters 3-5 consisting of subsea manifolds, associated controls and connection equipment. This contract is in addition to the earlier order for well clusters 1-2 of the Shah Deniz Stage 2 project, which is operated by BP. Delivery of the equipment will take place in phases over a period from 2016-2021.
“This award continues our multi-year support for BP on this project,” said Tore Halvorsen, senior V-P of subsea technologies at FMC Technologies. “Our close cooperation on this project has accelerated the transition to the manufacturing stage and enabled us to reduce the lead time delivering the project.”
OneSubsea also won a US$66mn contract for the second of three planned batches of subsea production trees and ancillaries required for the full field development. This equipment will also be delivered in phases over a period from 2016-2021.
Shah Deniz field, operated by BP, is located offshore in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea. The Shah Deniz consortium is made up of seven companies, with BP owning the maximum stake of more than a quarter.
