Tendeka, provider of completions systems and services to the oil and gas industry, has secured a three-year contract for the supply of down-hole inflow control devices (ICDs) in the Middle East region
Although the value is yet to be disclosed, this contract is Tendeka’s largest to date for the installation of their proprietary ICD technology in the Middle East, according to company sources.
The award, which was made by a major operator in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), will see Tendeka install approximately 30 ICDs in 12 wells.
Derren Simpson (pictured), Tendeka’s vice-president for MENA, said, “Installing ICDs in a well results in delayed water breakthrough because the inflow profile is evened out; this helps operators to maximise the well’s productivity and recovery factor. The contract award highlights our commitment to providing solutions that respond to the oil and gas industry’s needs while maintaining productivity and maximising yield.
“As an example, we recently enhanced our wireless offering with the launch of the SigNet Wireless Intelligent Completion solution. SigNet was developed in response to market demand and features an interval control valve (ICV) as well as down-hole power generation capability that results in extended battery life. SigNet retains the proven monitoring capability of Tendeka’s Wireless PT Gauge.”
He added that the contract award added to their recent wins in the Middle East.
“Earlier this year we secured a contract for the provision of swellable packers for up to 50 wells in Qatar along with contracts to provide our FloQuest rapid data visualisation and interpretation software for an operator in Qatar and Oman. FloQuest is used to assist downhole visualisation in determining future drilling interventions,” Simpson said.
