TDW teams up with Offshore Independents

Technology

TDW Offshore Services as announced it that it has joined forces with Offshore Independents BV to offer integrated solutions for companies keen to retain a full range of pipeline services and emergency pipeline repair systems from a single source.

The two companies agree that there is a gap in the market for an organization that offers pipeline recertification and project management services, in addition to core inspection, repair and maintenance services, and expertise in emergency pipeline repair systems.

"Together we offer a truly comprehensive range of special services to the world's pipeline industry," said Dirk Rook, commercial director of Offshore Independents. "TDW has an excellent reputation globally for its pipeline pressure isolation technology that they have used with great success to facilitate the safe repair of pipelines onshore and offshore.

TDW's products and services are the perfect complement to our range of pipeline recertification, project management and engineering services. This gives us the opportunity to better assist our clients as they strive to prepare for the unexpected."

TDW claims that its position as a leader in emergency pipeline repair systems continues to grow. As standards of emergency preparedness become increasingly stringent, operators are actively evaluating their ability to respond when a pipeline needs to be repaired or an accident occurs.

"We are experiencing a significant rise in inquiries for developing pipeline repair systems that feature special 'hardware,' such as custom subsea clamps that are built and rigorously tested," said Mark Sim, General Manager North Europe for T.D. Williamson, Inc.

"With Offshore Independents' expertise in pipeline recertification, project management, hands-on experience with pipeline repairs and emergencies, and experience in installation and vessel operation, we have the unique opportunity to provide operators with comprehensive emergency planning and preparation," he added.
