New coating solution for tanks and pipelines

Polyurea is a newly developed innovative two-part elastomeric polymer, combining the advantages of Polyurethane and Epoxy in one product and technology

The solution is manufactured by German Voelkel Industrial Products (VIP) and it results in high tensile strength, excellent elongation, good chemical resistance and moisture insensitivity.

“There is no faster and especially more durable solution to repair or coat various surfaces,” said VIP managing director, Alexander Voelkel.

VIP is targeting tank and pipeline applications with the innovative Polyurea Coating technology and has coated condensate tanks for BP and Petrofac successfully.

The complete process of surface-preparation and application of the base coat was completed in 10 days despite extreme HS regulations and conditions of spraying internally.

After the strong performance of VIP Polyurea the system was approved and specified as a preferred internal tank lining system.

VIP has set up new production sites in Dubai to target the Middle East coating industry.
