GE Oil & Gas has opened a new manufacturing and technology centre in Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) in Dubai, UAE

GE officials stated that the new facility is designed to offer services to improve customer service standards, such as repairing wireline equipment with faster turnaround times, providing technical support on and offsite for partners, data interpretation, and maintenance training.

One of GE Oil & Gas’ new technologies, the After Market Centre (AMC), will also be available in the new building. AMC offers ValvFAST quick delivery program for Masoneilan control valves and consolidated pressure relief valves for customers across the MENA region. The facility would also store valves, valve modules, and spare parts.

Additionally, there would be a dedicated administrative block, workshops, conference rooms and employee welfare amenities in the technology centre.

The facility spreads over an area of 22,700 sq m, can accommodate over 300 employees, and is scheduled to open in 2015. The Jafza plant is expected to be one of GE's largest facilities in the region.

Rami Qasem, president and CEO of GE Oil & Gas, said, “The new facility underlines our commitment to the UAE, where we have had a presence for over eight decades. It will also help strengthen our operational efficiency while contributing to enhanced customer service standards. Jebel Ali’s central location will help reach out to customers across the MENA region and beyond swiftly and effectively.”
