Deep Casing Tools wins contract in Saudi Arabia

Aberdeen-based Deep Casing Tools has secured a major order from a national oil company in Saudi Arabia for its high-speed drillable reaming system, the Turbocaser Express

The order will be delivered in Q2 and Q3 2012 and is worth in excess of US$1.5 million.

Deep Casing Tools chief executive officer Lance Davis said, “This is a major milestone in the growth of Deep Casing Tools, both in the Middle East, and globally.”

The national oil company in the kingdom will use the company’s Turbocaser Express technology in some of its more difficult well environments.

The award came on the back of successful tests of the technology in the kingdom’s Eastern Province that resulted in landing casing and liners on depth with both 7” and 9 5/8” Turbocase Express tools.

The technology enables casings and intermediate liners to be landed at target depth first time. After normal cementation, the internal assembly can be drilled through quickly in one operation.
