Chariot Oil & Gas has announced that it has begun a 3D seismic programme offshore Morocco

The programme, which will cover 17,000 sq km, is being carried out by Dolphin Geophysical using the Sanco Swift vessel.

The US$13mn project will take six weeks for completion, Chariot Oil & Gas said.

The vessel will explore the Rabat Deep area, capturing 1,075 sq km, as well as the Loukos and Mohammedia areas, with 250 sq km and 375 sq km respectively.

The aim of the survey is to enable the company to mature drillable prospects in the Mio-Pliocene and Jurassic plays identified within this region on reprocessed legacy 2D data, the company added.
