Saudi Arabian transport company moves 252-tonne liquid separator

Al Suwaidi Equipment & Transport Company Ltd transported a 252-tonne liquid separator from Al Jubail to Saudi Aramco’s gas refinery in Khursaniyah in Saudi Arabia

The company used a 32-axle-line Nicolas MHD, commonly used around the world to transport heavy equipment in demanding conditions, according to Al Suwaidi Equipment & Transport Company Ltd.

The Modular Heavy Duty (MHD) vehicle can carry concentrated loads, in a number of configurations as it has a platform height of 0.84m when lowered.

Particularly, on the day of transport, there were strong winds in addition to the challenging terrain, creating extensive sand drifts on the roads. The hydraulic axle packer of the Nicolas heavy duty module managed to stabilise the load uphill, especially on the 30 km stretch of desert in the last leg of the journey.

The Nicolas MHD was equipped with precise steering technology, allowing the vehicle to maneuver steep drops and manage the load.
