ADCO set to award NEB-3 project onshore Abu Dhabi

Technology

Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Operations (ADCO) is evaluating the bids for the third phase of the onshore North East Bab (NEB-3) project

A decision will be taken by the end of 2013 or early 2014, the UAE company said.

Thirteen companies have been qualified by ADCO for Onshore NEB-3 engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract.

Located less than 50km southwest of Abu Dhabi City, NEB-3 is part of the giant upstream projects in Abu Dhabi to help the UAE to meet its targeted quotas of oil production in 2018.

NEB comprises three producing oilfields — Al Dabb’iya, Rumaitha and Shanayel.

Abu Dhabi is expected to reach a daily production of 3.5mn in 2018, where ADCO is expected to contribute in ramping up its current production of 1.4mn bpd to 1.8mn bpd.

Within ADCO assets portfolio, NEB-3 is expected to bring 110,000 bpd additional output.

ADCO had earlier awarded the project management consultancy (PMC) contract to Mott MacDonald in 2012.
