Redline to provide wireless infrastructure for ADCO

Redline Communications Group has announced that it will provide wireless infrastructure for a major oil field operated by the Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO) in the UAE

As part of this contract, Redline will provide the hardware, software and services required to create a wireless infrastructure. Alcatel-Lucent will deploy the Redline system, integrating it within the larger digital oil field system.

"We know how well Alcatel-Lucent can integrate our wireless networking system into the larger digital oil field system, and we know that ADCO will realise the benefits of this experience,” commented Redline chief executive officer Eric Melka.

Redline's wireless systems will provide real-time communications between the many sensors located on the wellheads and the centralised control centre where the entire operation will be monitored and controlled remotely.

The wireless products will create a private high-speed network covering a wide area and connecting SCADA devices, RTUs and sensors at the well heads to central control centres.

ADCO operates on onshore and in the shallow coastal waters of the UAE. It produces from six oil fields in an area encompassing more than 21,000 sq km.
