IT solutions provider Luxoft has announced the launch of a smart application Geo Viewer to visualise geophysical and geological data for oil and gas exploration and production companies
According to Luxoft, Geo Viewer is a suite of web and mobile applications that provide an extensive set of advanced tools, which create graphical representations of exploration data accessible across the enterprise.
Dmitry Vilchinsky, energy and utilities practice director at Luxoft, said, “The visualisation in the application is created using a collection of specific geoscience data. Geo Viewer combines two major oil and gas exploration and production data types – seismic and well log – and visualises them in various ways, resulting in improved operational decision-making.
“Oil and gas exploration requires collaboration of multiple experts in various fields. The experts often need access to raw and geophysical data. With Geo Viewer, companies will now have the ability to control the quality of recorded data and optimise their exploration efforts.”
In November 2014, Luxoft became a member of the American Petroleum Institute (API). Vilchinsky noted that the new membership with API would help Luxoft understand the trends and technological challenges in the oil and gas exploration and production field.
