New online platform launched to store, analyse and share oilfield data

US-based software developer Information Store (iStore) has launched WellBitz.com to give petroleum companies access to low-cost tools for managing properties, collaborating, storing, mapping and analysing oilfield data

According to the company, WellBitz.com will provide oil and gas professionals with a central online workspace to organise and manage all their exploration and production projects, including drilling, operations, prospects and investments.

Barry Irani, CEO of iStore, said, “WellBitz.com brings a much needed service to the exploration industry at very affordable prices, at a time when the industry needs to become more efficient and cost effective.”

The online platform is designed by exploration and production veterans for the way oilfield professionals work, noted Irani. The service lets users collaborate online, upload and organise oilfield documents and securely share information with team members and partners, he added.

Jim Anderson, general manager of iStore, said, “Low subscription cost makes the WellBitz.com technology accessible to everyone in our industry, from thousands of small independent businesses to users at larger exploration and production companies.”

The company has built WellBitz.com on the cloud using the latest web technologies. Cloud-based services, also known as software-as-a-service (SaaS), allow developers to operate and provide services at a much lower cost than traditional desktop or server applications.
