GE Energys Measurement & Control Solutions business held the inaugural Technology Day Conference in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, recently.
The event, attended by representatives from the oil and gas and power generation sectors, provided an excellent platform to explain and promote the comprehensive portfolio of relevant products, systems and solutions now offered by the GE Business through its extensive Middle East infrastructure.
The conference was opened by Nabil Mofti, GE Energy's Saudi Arabia manager, who welcomed the guests before explaining the role Measurement & Control Solutions plays at GE Energy. He also provided some background into GE Energy, which has been a successful partner in the development of the Middle East's energy infrastructure since the 1930s and today has 11 facilities across the region.
He then explained how Measurement & Control Solutions now brings together six existing businesses with around 200 people located across the region and a network of operating bases and Application Centres, including those in Dammam and Al Khobar, KSA. The packed conference programme featured presentations from all those integrated businesses working in the relevant sectors.
The Control Solutions business introduced their new Opticomp, integrated turbine and centrifugal compressor control system; the Bently Nevada business presented their wireless condition monitoring and motor condition monitoring product initiatives and provided information on their supporting services agreements; the Inspection Technologies business explained their Rightrax corrosion monitoring technology and how it can integrate with Bently Nevada's System to provide plant monitoring data; and the Measurement Solutions business introduced their ultrasonic and Coriolis flowmetering solutions for the oil and gas sector, as well as demonstrating a selection of their gas and moisture analyzers.
