Chevron and Schlumberger sign data analytics contract

Oilfield services company Schlumberger has signed a software contract with US-based Chevron to provide access to Petrel E&P software platform across Chevron’s earth science organisation

According to Schlumberger, Petrel E&P software platform enables oil and gas companies to standardise workflows from exploration to production and make more informed decisions with a clear understanding of both opportunities and risks.

Schlumberger Information Solutions president Uwem Ukpong said, “We have enjoyed more than a decade of innovation and collaboration with Chevron, partnering on several key initiatives from intellectual property development on ocean software development framework to field development consortium on intersect high-resolution reservoir simulator. This agreement is core to advancing continuous improvement for capital efficiency.”

In addition to Petrel E&P software platform, the contract includes a number of other software in the geological, geophysical and reservoir evaluation domains including Techlog wellbore software platform, OFM well and reservoir analysis software and ProSource E&P data management and delivery system.
