A new integrity management tool for oil and gas plants

DNV GL has launched its Synergi Plant software, which has been designed to optimise plant operations and safety measures

According to the oil and gas industry technical advisory company, the Synergi Plant software would enable oil and gas plant owners to improve overall control of their asset conditions by optimising inspection, asset monitoring and links to their maintenance system.

The software organises data and provides decision-makers with the information needed to ensure asset integrity. The software offers a complete plan-do-check-act (PDCA) approach for managing asset integrity risk, the company stated.

Føllesdal Tjønn, MD of DNV GL, said, “The merger of DNV and GL in 2013 not only brought together the first consolidation of two leading classification societies, it also combined technical know-how, expertise and products.

“To solve the problem of integrity management of plant production, each company’s market-leading solutions have combined its products to create the new Synergi Plant software. This brings together GL’s Galiom product for managing asset integrity risk and DNV’s Synergi Plant, which has been used by operators of both upstream and downstream process plants and offshore platforms worldwide,” Tjønn added.

The Synergi Plant software would help oil and gas plant owners at all levels, including managers, integrity teams and inspection planners, risk analysts, offshore corrosion and damage analysis specialists, inspectors, contractors and IT, the company noted.
