Sandvik, a developer and producer of advanced stainless steels, special alloys, titanium and other high-performance materials, is highlighting its latest range of products and services for its growing EMEA customer base at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) 2018
The company is seeing significant growth in the region following considerable investment in recent years, including the opening of its regional oil and gas headquarters in Dubai to increase the delivery of local services and products.
Observing positive growth and requirements from customers, Sandvik also recruited a new business development manager based in Lagos, Nigeria. Ezenna Okolie joined Sandvik’s oil and gas EMEA sales team in September and is responsible for developing growth in the Sub Saharan Africa region.
Additionally, Sandvik will soon launch its new productivity-enhancing transportable onsite or container-based coiled tubing production unit in the Middle East. The onsite solution allows Sandvik to install equipment at the customer’s own facilities for final stage production while the container solution provides a temporary installation with equipment built within a fully mobile container.
Phil Cherrie, regional sales and marketing director for oil and gas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Sandvik, said, “Our new transportable coiled tubing production solution is an example of Sandvik’s drive to deliver purposeful innovation to add value to our clients. Customers in the Middle East will soon have a perfect solution for decoiling, straightening and line marking to any lengths in remote areas. Generator operation and air conditioning make it ideal for use in desert environments.”
Sandvik’s booth at ADIPEC 2018 is showcasing an extended range of tube products for the upstream and downstream markets, including the oil and gas subsea sector, refineries and processing plants where high corrosion resistance is needed such as hydraulic and instrumentation, heat exchanger, and OCTG tubing, control lines and umbilicals.
Since 1980, Sandvik has manufactured and supplied more than 100mn metres of seamless stainless tubing to customers worldwide and the demand for Sandvik’s high corrosion resistant alloys is increasing as operators look to improve lifetime cycles and safety in both existing systems and new, ever more aggressive environments.
Sandvik is also part of the Fight Fake Initiative, launched by Steel Alliance Against Counterfeiting (SAAC) in November 2015. The main goal of the initiative is to act as a strong, coherent voice for the industry in the fight against the manufacture, distribution and sale of counterfeited products.
