The Middle East’s largest oil and gas exhibition will take its first steps outside with the introduction of outdoor stands and demonstration areas
The expansion of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC), the third biggest event of its kind in the world, will help it exceed capacity of 32,000sq metres as the show looks to benefit from the continued growth of the region’s oil and gas industry.
Show organiser dmg :: group said it expected more than 45,000 visitors from 90 countries to attend the event, which will take place at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in November.
“As a result of increased demand, [ADIPEC] is, for the first time, opening its halls and giving exhibitors and visitors an open-air arena to showcase and experience real equipment whether they operate onshore or offshore,” said dmg energy group commercial director Kimon Alexandrou.
“ADIPEC offers a unique and strategic platform for the industry’s marine services and heavy equipment manufacturers, who are typically limited to the confines of indoor areas in industry exhibitions,” he added.
Other highlights at this year’s edition of the show will include the first public museum archiving the achievements of the UAE oil and gas industry from the 1930s through to the modern day, and the introduction of the GCC Country Briefings, which will feature input from leading industry figures.
Supported by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and the UAE Ministry of Energy, and with more than 1,500 exhibitors already confirmed, ADIPEC can also boast of the largest attendance of national and international oil companies of any event in the Middle East.
Among the big names set to participate at the 15th edition of the exhibition are ARDECO, ExxonMobil, KPC and Total.
