Kuwait University signs research cooperation agreement with Kuwait Oil Company

The Kuwait University has signed a strategic research and development cooperation agreement with the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC)

The agreement was signed by Hussein Al-Ansari, president of the University, and Nayef Abdulla Al-Enezi, executive vice-president for drilling and technology at KOC.

The five-year agreement aims to cooperate in the field of reservoirs, heavy oil and natural gas and aims to exchange research and development technology, knowledge and capacity development.

KOC’s Al-Enzi welcomed the participants from Kuwait University, stressing the importance of cooperation between the two parties in the service of research and development.

He praised the role of researchers at Kuwait University and their experience in applied research that serves all the oil sectors, pointing out that this agreement covers the research cooperation between the university and the company, given the major challenges facing the oil sector imposed by the technological reality and the need to improve production and refining operations.

Within the defined terms of the agreement, Kuwait University, represented by the external research and consulting the office of the research sector, shall focus on supporting the company’s decision-making on intellectual property protection. This will include patents and analysis of the technical and marketing value of intellectual property to assist strategic decision-making.
