Honeywell develops strong local presence in Iraq

Industry

Honeywell announced an expansion of its Iraqi investment with the opening of a second full-service office in Basra, which will further strengthen the companys commitment to its customers and partners.

Larger presence than competitors

With a larger presence in the country than any of its competitors, Honeywell will use its new office to deliver leading-edge automation and control solutions, equipment and services. The new facility will also support the company's training and sales capabilities throughout the country.

Iraq's hydrocarbon industry is undergoing significant change and growth in the midst of re-construction. Honeywell technology is instrumental in providing the Iraqi Ministry of Oil and entities with optimal control of its production, efficiency and profitability.

To become a leading supplier

"Iraq is on track to become a leading supplier of oil to the world within the next decade. To do this, the country and its workforce require significant private enterprise investment," said Chris Spear, vice president for New Growth Countries, Honeywell Process Solutions.

"Honeywell is fully committed to playing a role in Iraq's reconstruction and development efforts, providing best-in-class technology as well as training the Iraqi oil and gas industry and workforce."
