Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and Eni CEO, Paolo Scaroni, accompanied by Eni E&P COO, Claudio Descalzi, met in Baghdad to discuss the development of Enis work on Iraqs giant oil field Zubair, and potential for futher cooperation.
Eni is the operator of Zubair, considered one of the biggest oil fields of Iraq. Zubair, operating at full capacity, will produce 1.2 million barrels of oil equivalent per day.
Greater presence
Eni's CEO discussed all aspects of the field development including the expansion of the organization, which employs 200 expatriates, and the construction of new buildings within the operational area, as well as the recent opening of Eni's offices in Baghdad.
Scaroni announced that the company will participate in the fourth round bid and the competition for the development of Nassirya field.
Al-Maliki expressed his satisfaction with the activities carried out by Eni in Iraq and called for a greater presence of the company in the country.
