Eni’s oil production at 242,000 boepd in Libya

Italian oil and gas major Eni has announced that its current oil production in Libya stands at 242,000 boepd

Paolo Scaroni, chief executive of Eni, said, “In Libya we are producing 242,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, numbers we have not seen for many months.”

Eni has been in Libya since 1959 and is reportedly the biggest foreign oil producer in the North African country. It had daily production there of around 272,000 barrels per day before the 2011 uprising.

Scaroni added that the Wafa gas field in the western Libya had restarted and the Mellitah oil complex was working well.
