Industry

Emerson Process Management has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deliver training courses at ENPPI Academy, the educational arm of Engineering for the Petroleum & Process Industries.

The Memorandum was signed by Olfat Ezzat, Chairman Assistant for HR & ENPPI Academy, and David Kraft, Middle East and Africa Sales Director for Emerson Process Management.

The Emerson facility at the ENPPI Academy will be fully equipped with the equipment that makes up the PlantWeb architecture. Emerson will also provide ENPPI with a certified instructor to conduct these courses for both company personnel and clients.

Emerson's PlantWeb courses and demonstration enhance ENPPI's consultancy and training services offered to new engineers, customers and sub-vendors

"Emerson is one of the leading suppliers of automated systems and instrumentation for several major oil, gas and petrochemicals companies in the Egyptian market, and we provide these companies with a wide range of technologies and services based on our PlantWeb automation architecture," said Kraft.

"The impact on the Egyptian industry is expected to be high, as this is the first instance in which a generation of ENPPI engineers, customers and sub-vendors will be educated on Emerson's integrated solutions and technologies, which are among the most advanced in the field," said Alaa Hegazy, ENPPI Chairman Assistant for Instrumentation and Control & telecommunication engineering division.

Under the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding, Emerson will receive its own training facility within the ENPPI Academy and will focus on training new graduate engineers and offering professional training services to numerous customers in Egypt and the rest of the Arab world.

"As the only vendor that can cover a full scope of PlantWeb courses and training demonstrations in this market, we expect Emerson's consultancy on the training programme to enhance the course's attractiveness not only within the Egyptian market but to a wider student base from the rest of the Middle East and North Africa," said Ahmed Abbas, Middle East and Africa service sales specialist, Emerson Process Management.

The Memorandum of Understanding underscores Emerson's contribution to capacity building within the industry by enhancing the capabilities of trainees at the ENPPI Academy.

In turn, the agreement underscores the academy's commitment to promote and organise Emerson-certified courses and integrate them into the Academy's curriculum.
