Iraq awarded a three-year contract valued at US$640mn to Baker Hughes to drill 60 wells in Iraqs southern Zubair oilfield, government spokesman Al Al-Dabbagh said.

Italy's ENI, US-based Occidental Petroleum and South Korea's KOGAS have signed a 20-year deal with Iraq to develop Zubair, setting an eventual output target of 1.2mn barrels per day.
