Fluid transfer solutions firm FES International has achieved Tier 2 accreditation in health, safety and environment (HSE) by oil and gas explorer Inpex
Inpex established the HSE awards to recognise sustained contributions for improving its Ichthys gas project in Australia and the awards were open to all contractors and subcontractors engaged in the project.
As part of the process, FES International was subjected to a series of HSE audits and inspections conducted by Inpex and EPC firm McDermott. The UK-based company also supplied additional supporting evidence to illustrate its own HSE initiatives. Materials included internal audit and inspection reports, meeting notes and photography.
FES International said that members of the Australian HSE team visited the company’s headquarters in Ashington in July 2014 to present the award.
The company had supplied a series of diverless bend stiffener connectors (DBSCs) for the FPSO vessel working off the coast of western Australia. It also lost zero hours due to injury, based on HSE metrics submitted to McDermott.
Rob Anderson, MD of FES International, said, “Safety has to be our highest priority and it is great to have our efforts and strong performance recognised and rewarded through the Inpex scheme.”
