Qatari gas field output increases by 14 per cent

Natural gas production from South Pars gas field in Qatar has increased by 14 per cent and is worth over US$1.2bn

 

Masoud Hassani, managing director of Pars Oil and Gas Company, noted that the South Pars gas field has experienced a 59 per cent and 272 per cent increase in the production of propane and butane respectively. The output of gas condensates from the gas field also grew by 12 per cent in September 2014.

Tha company also said that the gas field exported 4,809,964 tonnes of gas condensates worth more that US$4mn.

The products were mainly exported to China, Japan, India, Turkey, Iraq, Ghana, Kenya, Azerbaijan, Georgia, South Korea and Mexico, the statement added.

South Pars is reportedly the world’s largest gas field and mainly consist of offshore facilities, products transfer pipeline to onshore facilities, onshore facilities, gas transfer pipelines and export facilities for exporting gas condensate.
