Fluor Corporation announced that Qatar National Facilities Services (QNFS), signed a five-year comprehensive maintenance services contract with RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) in the industrial city of Ras Laffan, Qatar.
Competitive tendering
Following a competitive tendering process, the new contract was awarded to QNFS, partly owned by Fluor, to provide maintenance services for the entire complex. Fluor booked the undisclosed contract value into backlog in the third quarter of 2011.

Trained 62,000 workers
Fluor previously completed the RL3 Common Offplot project for RasGas in 2009 for which it trained more than 62,000 different workers at the site from 40 different countries with peak construction manpower reaching nearly 9,000 workers in January 2008.
37 million tonnes LNG
RasGas is owned by Qatar Petroleum and an affiliate of ExxonMobil. It produces approximately 37 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) annually for export to global markets.
The company oversees and manages all the operations associated with seven LNG trains, two sales gas production facilities, helium production facilities, offshore production platforms, as well as major shipping contracts and global commercial partnerships.
