Qatargas has awarded UK-based STATS Group a multi-million pound deal to provide remote pipeline isolation equipment for its Emergency Pipeline Repair System (EPRS)
The ten-year contract is STATS’s first deal with Qatargas and is its biggest ever award in the region.
STATS group chief executive officer Pete Duguid said, “To be awarded a contract of this magnitude underlines the confidence Qatargas has in STATS and our unique technologies and our ability to respond to all its pipeline integrity and repair issues.”
STATS will supply a new range of high integrity remote tecno plug for 32”, 34” and 38” pipelines, which will be used as part of Qatargas’ North Field EPRS.
The installed remote tecno plugs will provide positive isolation and a safe environment to carry out quick and effective repair on subsea pipelines in the event of an incident.
In addition, the company will provide a call-out service to make sure all the equipment is functional and field personnel will be on hand to help with the deployment of the system.
“This award puts us in a very strong position to take advantage of the emerging EPRS sector in the Middle East,” added Duguid.
