BP has awarded US-based KBR a US$365mn engineering contract for the Shah Deniz II gas field in the Caspian Sea
According to AzerNews, the project lies about 70km offshore, in the Azerbaijani sector.
The development work has been scheduled to commence in January 2014 and will be completed in 2018, KBR said.
The scope of work includes offshore engineering design and procurement support for the Shah Deniz II offshore complex, comprising two bridge-linked platforms, the onshore gas processing facility at the Sangachal Terminal, which consists of two gas processing trains (with a capacity to produce 25.4mn cubic metres per day) and the condensate processing facilities with a capacity of about 105,000 bpd.
KBR will also provide project management services for this project.

It follows KBR’s 20 year presence and successful track record in Azerbaijan working with BP on both the Shah Deniz and ACG fields.”
