GASCO awards dewatering contract to consortium

Gas

A consortium between Babcock Borsig Service (BBS), the project leader, and Pall Corporation has been awarded an US$28.4mn contract for a hydrocarbon condensate dewatering initiative by Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd (GASCO).

The BBS/Pall consortium will carry out detailed engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities (EPC) at GASCO gas complex.

Scope of project

The scope of the project is to remove water and contaminants from hydrocarbon condensate, thereby reducing the possibility of downstream corrosion at the GASCO complex near Abu Dhabi City.

Shipments and construction will begin in March 2012. The entire project including commissioning is scheduled to be completed by December 2012.

"Our broad range of engineered, total fluid management solutions will be put to work for GASCO in this large-scale hydrocarbon condensate project," said Hussein Barazi, Director Pall Middle East.

Optimum efficiency

"BBS & Pall's joint efforts will considerably improve the reliability of GASCO's process facilities to ensure that production targets will be met, " said Clemens Wolters, COO of Deutsche Babcock Middle East.

"GASCO requires a high-quality, efficient solution for the removal of contaminants from its processes and we are confident the combination of Pall's products and BBS Management Services will improve the condensate dewatering process. This initiative will allow GASCO plants to continue to run at optimum efficiency levels and simultaneously improve the quality of products to TAKREER," Wolters added.
